What did Exactech do?

The Exactech recall says that inserts manufactured were packaged in a way that exposed them to too much oxygen which degraded the mechanical properties of the inserts. The defective inserts have allegedly led to serious complications for the patients that had either hip, knee or ankle replacements. Complications include:

  • Accelerated debris production

  • Bone loss

  • Component fatigue cracking and fracture

  • Infection

  • Requirement of revision surgery

Do I have a claim?

If you have had a hip, knee or ankle replacement using Exactech inserts, you may be entitled to claim significant damages for:

  • Pain and suffering

  • Economic loss

  • Care and assistance

  • Treatment

How do I know if I have had an Exactech implant?

Your orthopaedic surgeon will be able to confirm the replacement device used. If requested, and providing you have authorised us to do so, GMP Law's expert legal counsel can support in contacting medical professionals on your behalf.

Will claims be included for more than one replacement?

Yes

What will it cost me?
